Milford Track & Lake Wakatipu

For 2026/27 the operator publishes daily departures from 1 November 2026 to 12 April 2027. February/early March is our preferred first quote window. January–February are warmer, not necessarily drier; all-weather gear remains necessary.

• This is an active mountain walk, with steep descents and long days. You carry your own overnight pack.
• Private ensuite rooms are part of a shared guided departure, with up to 50 walkers. Minimum age: 10; suitability is confirmed with the operator.
• Expect time without mobile coverage or Wi-Fi on the track. Tell us about any medical, dietary or mobility needs before we plan.

Planned inclusions

• Six Grand Lake View Suite nights at Rosewood Matakauri, three before and three after the walk, with breakfast and dinner.
• The five-day guided Milford Track walk, with four private-room lodge nights and the operator’s included meals.
• The walk’s coach and boat connections, and the Milford Sound cruise.
• Private airport, briefing and walk-handover transfers, plus stated hotel taxes and payment-fee allowance.
• Operator loan backpack, rain jacket and liner; lodge linen, towels and toiletries.

Quoted separately

• All flights to and from Queenstown, including international and domestic connections; entry requirements and travel insurance.
• Unlisted meals, alcohol beyond the hotel’s stated aperitif, personal purchases and gratuities.
• Spa treatments, wine outings, walking-pole hire and an optional helicopter return.
